Canton Fair delivers comfort to global families

The third phase of the 137th Canton Fair, themed A Better Life, offered a glimpse into a more caring and intelligent future. Within the maternity, infant, and child products and personal care exhibition zones, numerous Chinese companies unveiled products that blend cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design.

From eco-friendly strollers and bamboo fiber baby textiles to smart diapers and adult care items, these innovations reflect not only technical strength but also a commitment to human well-being.

In these bustling halls filled with conversations, product trials, and spontaneous orders, the warm force of “Made in China” was on full display — merging manufacturing excellence with emotional resonance.

From craftsmanship           to smart innovation

“I want to order a batch of this Forest Oxygen stroller series — its eco-friendly features will be a hit in our country,” said a Spanish buyer, as he finalized a purchase at the booth of Shandong Legend Baby Children Products Co Ltd. The company had drawn attention for its debut of a modular quick-release system that enables the stroller to switch between bassinet, seat, and storage basket modes in just five seconds. The innovation enhances usability and reflects the brand’s tireless pursuit of smart design.

“The Canton Fair is a key gateway for expanding our customer base and global footprint,” said the company’s representative. “Our commitment to research and development and innovation has paid off — we’ve secured $900,000 in orders so far and have an additional $100,000 in strong interest. We’ve also signed a co-branded development agreement with an Italian design firm and plan to invest further in product innovation.”

Not far away, the booth of Zhongshan Baobaohao Children’s Products Co Ltd was bustling, even as the day drew to a close. The company showcased a lineup of strollers crafted from eco-friendly materials and protected by multiple patents.

“Over the past 30 years, our commitment to quality has never wavered,” said Wang, the booth manager, showing photos of their patent certificates — two European utility model patents and over 200 Chinese utility and design patents.

A couple from Europe tested several strollers under the guidance of Baobaohao staff members and were impressed. “The design is thoughtful, safety and practicality are both top-notch. These products exceeded our expectations. We’re planning to visit the factory and hope to establish a long-term partnership.”

Nantong Evergreen Industry Co Ltd drew attention with its bamboo fiber baby textiles using bionic vernix coating technology, which mimics the protective layer found on newborn skin. A Canadian buyer was amazed: “This silky texture surpasses even organic cotton. We want to triple last year’s order volume.”

According to the company’s representative, the unique designs and competitive pricing attracted strong interest from buyers in Europe, the Middle East, South America, and Africa.

“One Mexican buyer asked for exclusive agency rights in the country, while a South African buyer not only signed a one-year purchasing framework but also proposed deeper collaboration, including tailored design services for the African market.”

People-centered innovation

Chinese personal care manufacturers are evolving rapidly — shifting from product exports to value-driven partnerships, enabled by biodegradable materials and smart service models. The Canton Fair has become a vital window for showcasing this transformation.

Jiangsu Haoyue Industrial Co Ltd presented its fourth-generation wood pulp-free multi-layer composite core technology, offering major breakthroughs in absorption, backflow prevention, and comfort in products like diapers and period pants. After testing the product, a New Zealand buyer was thrilled: “This smart core technology is a game-changer — we’re ready to launch a strategic partnership immediately.”

Zhang Xiaohua, the company’s spokesperson, shared that expected transactions at the fair would exceed $5 million. “This innovation is helping us lead a new standard in global care products.”

Changzhou Freshday Household Products Corp Ltd showcased a bamboo toothbrush designed to prevent bristle splaying — solving a long-standing issue with sustainable brushes. The ergonomic design and advanced anti-fray feature won over a German supermarket chain buyer, resulting in an intended order of 2 million yuan.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Sun’O Development Co Ltd carved a niche with a line of biodegradable grapefruit-based sanitary napkins designed for adults with mild incontinence. The product received enthusiastic feedback for both its innovation and eco-friendly properties. “There’s enormous market potential in light incontinence products,” said a company spokesperson. “We’ve expanded our booth space threefold this year, and the number of inquiries has clearly risen. We’ve engaged with buyers from the Philippines, Singapore, Nepal, India, and Japan — and more discussions are underway.”

Behind every signed deal and product showcase lies a larger story: one of empathy-driven innovation, meticulous attention to user needs, and a relentless push for excellence. For many Chinese companies, the goal is not just to sell but to serve — turning each transaction into the start of a lasting relationship.

As global competition intensifies, it’s these small, thoughtful design touches and user-centered innovations that give Chinese manufacturers a winning edge. A quick-fold stroller that saves parents time; a diaper with advanced cores that keeps babies dry longer; a bamboo toothbrush that solves real user pain points — each of these embodies care as much as commerce.

The third phase of the 137th Canton Fair has made one thing clear: Chinese companies are not just making products — they’re sharing warmth, safety, and trust with the world. And in doing so, they’re redefining what it means to live a better life.
